Saturday, June 1 (9am-12pm) 

Class #1: CA Friendly & Native Plant Landscape Training

Understand the principles of California Friendly and native plant landscapes. What makes a landscape watershed wise, and how do you start planning your project?

In this workshop you will learn how to:
1. Look at your yard as a mini-watershed
2. Create a living soil sponge that holds onto water
3. Treat rainwater as a resource and capture it
4. Select plants to maximize biodiversity & minimize water use
5. Control your irrigation to minimize water waste

Class #2: Turf Removal & Garden Transformation Workshop

*It is recommended to complete Class #1: CA Friendly & Native Plant Landscape Training before attending Class #2.

Dig into the process of removing grass from your yard, selecting and planting climate-appropriate plants, and making sure your garden is healthy for the long-haul.

In this workshop you will learn how to:
1. Evaluate the opportunities in your landscape
2. Plan for your garden transformation
3. Identify the type of turf grass in your yard
4. Remove grass without chemicals
5. Building healthy living soil
6. Select plants that minimize water and maximize beauty
7. Implement a maintenance schedule that keeps your yard gorgeous all year round
